The DIVINE WILL

A sister in the Kolping Youth Organization named Marcelina once shared to us this quote about prayer:
When we pray, the Good God has four ways of answering our prayers.

1. If the time is not right, SLOW.
2. If you are not right, GROW.
3. If it is not right, NO.
4. If everything is right, GO.

Prayers are not always answered as we want them to be. Some prayers however are answered automatically. Some prayers do not happen no matter how we prayed.
God answers prayers according to His divine will and His divine plan. He is not playing dice with the universe. Everything happens for a reason, everything happens for a purpose. In all our prayers, we must act in order to make our prayers worthy and the wise and good Lord will give us according to his grace.

I have a story to share you I get from the magazine of my sister called the Kalasag (which means armor). The story is called “The Lord’s Baseball Game” that goes this way:

Bob was caught up in the spirit where he and the Lord stood by to observe a baseball game. The Lord’s team was playing with Satan’s team. The Lord’s team was at bat, the score was tied zero to zero, and it was the bottom of the 9th inning with two outs.

They continued to watch as the batter stepped up to the plate whose name was LOVE. Love swung at the first pitch and hit a single, because Love never fails.

The next batter was named FAITH, who also got a single because Faith works with Love.
The next batter named GODLY WISDOM looked it over and let it pass because Godly Wisdom does not swing at Satan’s pitches. Ball one. Three more pitches and Godly Wisdom walked, because Godly Wisdom never swings Satan’s throws.

The bases were loaded. The Lord then turned to Bob and told him He was now going to bring in His star player. Up to the plate stepped GRACE. Bob said, he sure did not look like much! Satan’s whole team relaxed when they saw Grace.

Thinking he had won the game, Satan wound up and fired his first pitch. To the shock of everyone, Grace hit the ball harder than anyone had ever seen. But Satan was not worried; his center fielder, the Prince of the air, let very few get by. He went up for the ball, but it went right through his glove, hit him on the head and sent him crashing on the ground; then continued over the fence for the home run! The Lord’s team won.

The Lord then asked Bob if he knew why Love, Faith and Godly Wisdom could get on base but could not win the game. Bob answered that he did not know why. The Lord explained, “If your love, faith and wisdom had won the game you would think you had done it by yourself. Love, faith and wisdom will get you on base, but only My Grace can get you home.”

Do you understand what the story is trying to reveal to us? Only God’s grace can give us the things we are wanting or making to have. Only his Divine Will can take us there wherever we wanted to go. Even the great scientist Albert Einstein believed that. We must believe God is the source of everything and hence we must not forget to ask for His Divine guidance and assistance and of course His Grace. For only His grace can take us home where we all belong.

Where is this home? This home is heaven. The new earth that will be made by our God for his chosen and saved people who love Him and follow His command. His command of loving one another is not difficult to follow. Instead it is very good to the soul.

People and preachers say that nobody can understand what the Good Lord’s divine plan is. There are wars all over the world; people are dying of famine and sickness, the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. It seems that God is overlooking His creation and letting Satan take over the world by making people do more evil deeds every day.

Jesus Christ has won the world. The bible tells us so. He has won actually from the earthly desires of the body when He gave up His own life on the cross to make His own life an offering to God Jehova, His Father, to atone for the sins of His chosen people. God has already won the people whom He already knows from the beginning of the world that His people will win the evils that will come their way.

It is true that names are written in the Book of Life. His people whom He knows will be good and will love God and his fellowmen until they died are written in this good book. As God knows everything, He knows everyone who is written on the book. He just lets the devil test them to make them stronger and better persons. God’s love and guidance is always beside them.

God gives chances for the evil people who choose to follow Satan’s evil ways. He still gives rain and blessings to them. Somehow, some of them are punished by the law of man and some escape. Those who escape the law made by man can never escape the punishment in hell.

God’s sees everything we do whenever and wherever we may be. We must also be good even to the evil persons because God gives us more grace when we help those bad people who need our help. Be good. That is the thing we only need to remember because when we are good, it shows that God is in our hearts.

In everything that we do, God’s grace is given to us according to His will. He is the force that makes the world go round everyday and the power that makes the sun shines. To God be the glory.
